bad maternity care

andreGuest ·
We had a maternity nurse from Groenekruis in Groningen.
On the second day, she left a pan with boiling water unattended on the stove.
Our other two children, aged 3 and 6, could easily reach the pan.
She was spoken to about it, but it didn't seem to register with her.
On the fifth day, she suddenly went home without consulting us.
My partner had been told by her to get into bed.
Our other two children were free to roam around the house.
When I came home in the afternoon, I was terrified to see that the Groenekruis maternity nurse had left cleaning products for the bath within reach in the baby bathtub.
Our other two children could easily have reached those very dangerous cleaning products.
Our 3-year-old son easily grabbed a flower sprayer from the baby bathtub.
The consequences would have been unbearable if the children had picked up the bottles.
Both very serious incidents were reported to Groenekruis.
But nothing was done about it.
On their website, you can also find nothing negative about this maternity nurse.
I want to warn other parents with this.
I took a photo of the baby bathtub upon our return home, but they don't want to see it.
Are there more parents who have experienced this?
Kind regards, André

If you don't get along with your postpartum care nurse, you can show her the door at any time. You can also ask the postpartum care organization for a replacement. I can totally understand that you don't want someone in your home who clearly doesn't take safety regulations seriously. Postpartum care is a service you can choose to use, not an obligation. Luckily, there are also many good postpartum care nurses, so just ask for someone else if you don't get along with her. Your postpartum time should be carefree.

We had a maternity helper named Majan from the Groenekruis organization in Groningen.
On the second day, she left a pan with boiling water unattended on the stove.
Our two other children, aged 3 and 6, could easily reach the pan.
We confronted her about it, but she didn't seem to care.
On the fifth day, she suddenly went home without any discussion...
My partner was sent to bed by her.
Our two other children were free to roam around the house.
    Even in the shower.
When I came home in the afternoon, I was greatly SHOCKED to see that the Groenekruis Groningen maternity helper had left the baby bath (with cleaning products) within reach.
Our two other children could easily reach the very dangerous cleaning products.
Our 3-year-old son easily grabbed a spray bottle from the baby bath.
The consequences would have been unimaginable if the children had grabbed those bottles.
Both very serious incidents were reported to Groenekruis.
But nothing was done about it.
On their website, you can't find any negative reviews about a maternity helper either.
I want to warn other parents about this.
I took photos of the baby bath when I got home, but they don't want to see them.
    Kind regards, Andre
P.S. I hope you will also warn other parents.
