Smoking during pregnancy

Hi everyone,
I know I might get a lot of hate for this, but are there others who smoked or have smoked during pregnancy?

Before I got pregnant, I used to smoke and also smoked weed just as much. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I stopped both right away. I was nauseous for the first few weeks, and after 2.5 months I smoked just one cigarette, and suddenly my nausea was gone. From then on, I smoked occasionally. On average, one cigarette a day, sometimes none, sometimes two. Two was always my max. And I haven't touched weed anymore. After every cigarette, I feel guilty, but I just can't seem to quit.

Now that my pregnancy is coming to an end, I'm actually worried about low birth weight, a black placenta, etc.

Are there others here who want to share their experiences?

I know it's really bad, so please no hateful responses. Thanks in advance!

I don't smoke myself. But I see in my family how hard it is to quit when you're addicted. I think it's already really good of you that you've limited it to a minimum. Of course, quitting altogether is better, but you know that yourself too. Maybe once you've given birth and have less trouble with the hormones, you'll manage. Since it helps you with the nausea right now, there's something to be said for that. You feel better, and you can at least eat, which is also important for your baby's growth.

Sorry that you don't have the discipline to quit before your baby arrives. I myself quit smoking as soon as we wanted kids, so well before I was even pregnant! You don't want negative reactions. I won't give you any, but you also can't expect everyone's approval. So what are you aiming for? Stories about babies with very low birth weight, developmental delays, etc.? Everyone knows stories where everything turned out fine. But that doesn't mean you did the right thing. Just quit smoking. You're stronger than that!!!!!

I couldn't stop either. Not with this second pregnancy either. With my first, I tried everything, but it didn't work. I think it's super super great that you're smoking so little!

well, we know enough nowadays, right, that smoking is super bad for the baby in the belly
    And definitely harmful too
I'm not going to say you're terrible if you do it
But please try to put yourself in your baby's shoes who is lacking healthy substances
It's because of the toxic substances from the cigarette. Because even before healthy substances from food can reach the placenta and your baby, the part of the cigarette responsible for carcinogenic substances has already broken down the healthy ones
Pretty sad towards your baby, of course
I used to smoke a lot too
    One after another
And now I still smoke one or only two per day but only at work
At home not 1 not 2 not at all
My children have never seen me light a cigarette.
and there are days when I don't smoke at all
    But also during my pregnancies.
My baby in the belly didn't deserve to be poisoned because I was stressed or restless, for example.
Also, you should keep in mind that your baby can be born healthy but when it's older, adult, it has a higher chance of getting sick and lung diseases
Because the body is weakened by the cigarette the baby in the womb received.
