Dilemma! Boy's name Zeph
My husband and I both think Zeph is a super cute name for our first son. But our close cousin is named Sem (sounds a bit similar) and Zeph can be spelled in so many different ways (unfortunately), which might be a bit unfair to the little guy.
-Zeph (English variant of biblical Zephaniah) - Zev- Sef - Sev.
And.. soon people might say Ze(pp) instead of Zeph (with an F sound).
Oh oh DILEMMA so please share your thoughts on this!!!

Go for it! You both think the name is super cute, and I don’t see any reason not to go for it.
There are many ways to spell various names (especially these days), so that’s just part of it. Don’t worry too much about it.
And if people say Zep, you just correct them. It’ll be fine!
By the way, I think the name Zeph sounds quite different from Sem.
Otherwise, I find Zeph special and beautiful.

Not a big fan here unfortunately...
I think Seth or Sep are nicer. You're right, I don't really like names that can be spelled in many different ways either. But well, that's a choice you have to make yourself of course :-) Anyway, I don't think Zeph and Sem are too similar for two cousins! So don't let that put you off :-) If it were two brothers, of course, that would be a different story ;-) -

I think it's a nice name. But he'll probably have to spell it a lot, well you know that's the case with so many names. -
