Maxime as a girl's name?
I'm pregnant with our third little girl. We tend to like somewhat long/chic names, but it's getting a bit trickier for our third daughter.
Our oldest daughter is Phileine Charlotte.
Our youngest daughter is Eloïse Sofie.
For our third daughter, we have Maxime Amelie in mind.
We're just wondering if many people think Maxime is a boy's name. Do you think Maxime works as a girl's name? And does Amelie sound too similar to Maxime? And do their names fit well with their sisters?

I actually think it's more of a girl's name than a boy's name. Amelie doesn't sound like Maxime to me, and I think both names fit well with her sisters. So if these are your names, I'd say just go for it -

I think Maxime Amelie is a really beautiful girl's name and fits perfectly with the names of your other two daughters!
I find Maxim (shortened) more suitable for boys. But with an 'e' at the end, it's very nice for a girl.

Maxime can totally work for a girl! It's a unisex name, so there's definitely nothing wrong with it! :-) Personally, I'd rather hear it for a boy, but I wouldn't find it weird to meet a female Maxime (I even know a few). :-)
I like Amelie! It's nicer than Maxime, so I'd probably swap the names around, but that's obviously your choice! :-)
And for sisters, their name can totally work too! :-) Eloïse Sofie -> what a lovely name!
So I'd say: tastes differ, but I'd go for it if that's your name! :-) Absolutely nothing wrong with it!

Yes, fun! I know a female Maxime and she's very happy with her name. It also fits well with her sisters. -

In the Netherlands, there are 2,635 women named Maxime and only 516 men. (voornamenbank) Definitely a girl's name with an 'e' at the end, right! And cute! -

I think Maxime is a nice name for a girl! You don't hear it that often.
I used to sit in class with a girl named Maxine. If you're unsure, maybe this could be an option? -

Dear everyone,
We expected our little crumb to be born in 2017, but nothing could be further from the truth.
On December 31, 2016 at 6:57 AM, after an 18-hour labor, our daughter Maxime Amelie was born. Maxime weighs 3380 grams and is 49 centimeters long. Our girl spent another week and a half in the hospital, and we’ve been home for a few days now. We’re enjoying it so much, and our two oldest are absolutely thrilled.
Thank you for your help. Because the birth came so soon after my message, I wasn’t able to reply. Sorry about that, but thank you all the same.
