De-pilling?

Hey everyone!
My boyfriend and I have been trying to conceive a little miracle since October 2016... EXCITING! We've only been at it for three months, but I already have some questions...
In October, I had a 26-day cycle. I clearly felt my ovulation! What I got for free with that was all sorts of ailments: for the whole month I had sore breasts that felt like they were about to burst, cramps, pain...
Fortunately, that was very different in November. Then the ailments only started again with ovulation. I felt that one really hard too: for two days I had to be careful how I sat down, because otherwise I'd get a sharp pain in my vagina/lower abdomen. Along with this ovulation, the sore breasts came back. As I got closer to my period, it seemed like I had even more symptoms: lower abdominal pain, nausea, exhaustion, sore breasts so I couldn't sleep on my stomach... In the end, I still got my period, a 28-day cycle.
This month was a bit different again.. Now I really thought it was a success! I clearly felt ovulation again. Around that time I also had to see the gynecologist, who told me that the mature egg was ready. Everything else was fine too. About 6 days after ovulation, I got a huge stab of pain in my lower abdomen one morning. It lasted for several minutes! There was also tension in my stomach where the pain was, which was easy to feel. Lots of little bubble-like sensations coming from my vagina and a tingling feeling in my lower abdomen. I also had a lot of mucus discharge this cycle, which I didn't have the other times. The day after the stab, we went away for the weekend, and that night I lost fluid. Very weird! Not really mucus discharge, but a wet spot in my underwear with a strong smell (sorry for the details..). This time I really thought it was a success. Not only because of the stab and the mucus discharge, but also because my breasts hurt differently: it felt like they were full of bruises when I touched them... So it was a disappointment when I got my period...

Now: is this all still "implantation"? Or should I assume that it's a positive sign that I feel all this so clearly? Are there other women who feel all sorts of things like this?

    Hi!
It’s exciting if you’re really going for it. And of course, you’d love for it to happen as quickly as possible. I’m not sure if your symptoms are related to so-called “popping” (ontpitten). Honestly, I don’t really believe in that. It’s more that you’re used to a cycle regulated by the pill, and now your body is doing its own thing, so you’re only now noticing how your body works during such a cycle.

You’re very convinced that you can feel your ovulation, for example. You could use an ovulation test around that time to see if it’s really happening.

Otherwise, just be patient and don’t get too caught up in ovulation tracking. As hard as that can sometimes be. Most couples get pregnant within a year.

    Good luck!

I was supposed to do ovulation tests this month, but because of my irregular cycle, I started testing too early and ran out of strips. I'll test again next month. And since my period comes exactly 14 days after those two days of cramps and pain, I'm pretty sure it's ovulation... Hopefully I can track it well this month!

I try not to think about it too much, but during the week of my period, my mind already starts going "could it be? it would be nice..." But I'll definitely keep trying! Thanks for your reply!

I don't really believe in 'pill withdrawal', because right after you stop taking the pill, you actually have a higher chance of getting pregnant (hormonal stuff). But it's true that you might become much more aware of your body and everything that happens in/with it now that you want to conceive.
For me, the symptoms were different every month. From pimples and gurgling intestines to headaches and fatigue. But almost every time I had very sore breasts, just like you describe. Only when I turned out to be pregnant did I have absolutely no discomfort, except right before I was supposed to get my period.
Keep trying and enjoy it too. For me/us, it took over a year.

Maria, I totally relate to this ! Definitely being more mindful about your body. Every time I have a little ache, I really try to pause and ask myself if I'm truly feeling it or if I'm secretly hoping I am...

Then I hope that next time (or one of the following times) I won't have any aches ! Three months isn't that long, right.. if it takes us a year too, we're already 1/4 of the way there, right? We'll definitely try to enjoy the process. Thanks for your reply!
