Testing for the holidays?

Hi everyone,
Everyone knows this statement: "You should take a regular pregnancy test ](url=) do it best if you are one or more days late. This test checks if the HCG hormone is in your urine. From conception until the third month of your pregnancy, you produce more and more of this hormone every day."
Now, my EDD is January 1st and I'm quite worried about the holidays. "What if they offer me something I'm not supposed to eat?" is one of the many stories haunting my mind.
Yes, maybe it's overkill. But I don't drink anymore and follow all the rules about what you can and can't eat, just in case you are pregnant.
Is there really no option to test on December 24th? And how do you all handle the holidays?

Of course, it's an option to do a test tomorrow, for example. However, the chance is greater that it will be negative than positive if your period is due on January 1st. So how much value do you attach to the result? A negative result now doesn't necessarily mean you're not actually pregnant if you test a week too early.
And regarding food and drink... well... tricky. I wouldn't drink alcohol at all. That's really very bad. And the Christmas dinner probably doesn't consist only of carpaccio or steak tartare? And if it does, you can always say you have some stomach trouble....
    cheers!

I understand you're a bit worried, and yes, you can take a test, but there's a good chance it'll be negative, even if you might be pregnant.
I also kept an eye on what I ate and drank every month starting from my ovulation, for 15 months. The last month was my nephew's baby shower, and I thought, "Oh well, it'll probably be fine," and I enjoyed some cava, fresh chocolate mousse, and toasties with American cheese. And as you can guess, a week later I tested two days before my expected period... pregnant! And now I'm 30 weeks along with a healthy daughter You should do what makes you feel good.
