Pain after miscarriage

Hey,
After trying for a year to get pregnant, I thought this month it wasn't going to happen again. I got my period back, but I kept bleeding for about 2 weeks, while it normally only lasts 4 days. After a negative pregnancy test, I thought it might be my hormones. But after a week, I noticed changes in my body and decided to test again. This time it was positive; apparently, I was already 2 weeks pregnant. Happiness couldn't have been missing, of course. But I still got worried about the bleeding. I had no pain, so the doctor reassured me, but I went to the emergency department on the gynecologist's advice. There they told me I had a miscarriage. My world fell apart. The next two nights I had heavy bleeding. On Monday I called the gynecologist again, and she said I could only come in next Tuesday because they need to be able to see if it was an ectopic pregnancy, which is still too early to see after 2 weeks. Since Monday I haven't had any bleeding anymore, but I do have severe pain. In my lower abdomen, mainly on the left. Is it normal that this pain persists? And is it true that you can get pregnant again sooner after a miscarriage?
Greetings, Kelly

If you're experiencing increasing pain, go back to the emergency room. Maybe you're further along than they thought, and if it's an ectopic pregnancy, that could mess with your pregnancy test results.

It was indeed an ectopic pregnancy, and everything is in the past now. I hope I can try again soon. Although, there's still some fear of experiencing something like this again. Best wishes
