My partner and I have gone through a long list of names and are now down to 2: Lex. It's short and sweet, while Scout feels tough and unique. But we're wondering if Scout might be TOO unique.
I'd love to hear which name you like best and why (or why not)

I would indeed go for Lex. I find Scout a bit too much.
