Pregnant??

Hello, I'm a girl almost 16 years old.
I had my period last month (July 1st to July 4th). Normally it takes about 29 to 30 days before I get it again. Now it's already August 5th and still nothing.. I'm usually always on time. Yesterday I took a test but it came back negative.. I've been feeling nauseous and very tired. Could I still be pregnant?
(sorry that this post appears multiple times but I just created my account)

I'm still together with him, we're very happy together. He's 19 and he'd really like to keep the baby if it turns out that way, and I want that too. We've already talked about it with his mom, and she'd prefer that we have an abortion if it's positive, but we're not obligated to do so, and that's what we're not going to do. We find it strange that I tested negative because everything points towards positive. I'm often nauseous, sometimes have cramps, sometimes heartburn, and I'm extremely tired... We're planning to take another test on Thursday to see what it says. The only thing I'm worried about is how my parents will react... but maybe it'll turn out okay since I've changed a lot thanks to my boyfriend... I used to have behavioral problems, but thanks to him, all of that is gone because now I have a strong support system in my life, and my parents are happy about that. They even think we'll stay together forever. xx

    @ Anoniiempjeee,
Hi, is everything okay? It's lovely that you're with someone where you feel completely at home. My oldest sister was also 16 when she got pregnant and had a partner, so I know how people around you can react.
Some are very nice, others very negative. But together you're strong. I think your parents will be shocked, but if you've already changed so much and you have a partner by your side, your parents might actually be very happy for you.

Having an abortion is hopefully not an option, despite your young age. I know behavioral problems well; I have one running around who is almost 12, and sometimes I can just stick him to the wallpaper. I also think that because he sees his support and rock changing like this, he's having a hard time.

But apart from that, it's pretty tough with him... But luckily he's listening to my partner a bit better now, though I hope that will change again later.
Because I'm coaching my son myself, it's intended that he'll start listening again.

    Kind regards, Ju

Hey, what a coincidence! I feel like I'm reading my own story. Anyway, when you think you might be pregnant, you can start feeling all the usual symptoms, like nausea and cramps... I'm almost 14 weeks pregnant myself now and haven't had any issues since week 11. So it could be over, but it can change again, so don't worry too much about how people react. What matters is that you're happy! And that doesn't depend on whether you have a baby or not... I'm with my boyfriend and we're very happy together, and lots of friends and family support us! Luckily, we've received very few negative reactions. Good luck! X Davina

    Hi anon,

It's great that your boyfriend supports you! It seems pretty tough to have a kid at such a young age. I'm almost twice as old as you and sometimes wonder if it'll all work out. In my eyes, you're still a kid, and I fear you'll have to grow up very quickly if you really end up pregnant. But please don't do anything against your will. Don't keep the baby just because your boyfriend wants it, but don't abort it just because others want you to.

Think carefully about what you want. Keep in mind that your feelings might change from what you thought beforehand. Also keep in mind that people who say they'll support you might not actually do so when it comes down to it. This means you should be sure of your decision and maybe even assume you'll have to raise the child on your own. Which I certainly don't hope for!

So, it might sound quite negative, but that's not my intention. I just want you to make your own choice in this situation and not let it be influenced by others. You'll have to live with the consequences while others can more easily walk away.

That doesn't mean I'm not really happy for you if you turn out to be pregnant and really want the baby!

Oh, I'm so happy to hear that you'd still go for it if you turn out to be pregnant!!
I know 3 women in different situations who did it and never got over the guilt, I find that really sad..

You won't have any reason to regret it if you'd have your baby in your arms!!
And yes, I really admire "Hartje", people should take that as an example!
It's amazing that your partner supports you, you'll need that if it turns out that way..
And regarding your behavioral issues (kudos for sharing that with us), it could actually be a help to prove that you've moved past it and become more mature!

    I think it's a very brave decision!!
