Do you really have to pronounce Lois as "Lojs" and Loïs as "Lowis"? We actually think Lois looks better without the diaeresis, but "Lowis" sounds much nicer

When I saw Lois standing there, I pronounced it in my head as "Lowis," not "Lojs." I hadn't really thought much about "Lojs" until I saw your description.

Nothing has to be, of course, but how you want it is less common.

I read it as both Lois and Loïs and Lo-is, not as Lojs!

I immediately thought of Lojs and not Lowis.

I hear and read everywhere that Loïs with the diaeresis on the i is indeed more common in the Netherlands. Maybe we should go with that after all, so we'll have fewer issues with pronunciation, and we just think it's such a beautiful name.

    Definitely a beautiful name.

I only think it sounds nice when it's pronounced as Lowis.
