Getting pregnant with an IUD.

Hi!
I had a question. Is it possible to get pregnant after having an IUD inserted?
About 6 weeks ago I had my IUD put in, but I still haven’t gotten my period. I’ve been looking online for pregnancy symptoms and I do have a few of them.
So I’m really curious if you can get pregnant after getting an IUD.
I hope someone can help me out!
Greetings,
Sineaadh.

Your period can actually be absent due to the IUD...

That's true, but not right from the start?
That only happens after a year, said the GP.

I haven't had my control ultrasound yet; I'll only get that on the 22nd.
The reason I'm so unsure is because a friend of mine also had her IUD inserted on the same day, and she's already had her period for the second time since then. That's why I'm doubting!

I can totally imagine that, but no two bodies are exactly the same, right! And the more you think about it... it might just stay away due to stress too. A test isn't expensive and can't hurt to put your mind at ease? Maybe if you see that it's not happening, things will start to move. Getting pregnant with an IUD is such a small chance since your uterine lining doesn't build up and the egg can't implant...

You're right about that. I think I'll just go get a test. Do you have any tips for a good pregnancy test? Or does it not make a difference between, say, the Kruidvat own brand or the Clearblue?

I took the Kruidvat test first. That one was pink. You also have a blue one, no idea if that means anything.
