new and overdue!

Hi everyone,

My name is Cindy and I'm new here. I stopped taking the pill on August 29th because my husband and I really want a baby. My cycles have been regular since then, and now I'm almost a week late (my last period was last Monday). I tested twice this morning, and unfortunately, both were negative. I do have a lot of headaches, tender breasts, nausea, more heartburn than usual, bloating, and I've been vomiting for the past two days.
My husband keeps saying, "I think you're pregnant, my gut feeling says so." And every time the test comes back negative, I don't want to believe it. Does that sound weird?
Anyone got any tips for me?
Best,
Cindy

Hi Cindsel1991, I have the same thing but my period was yesterday. I hope to test again at the end of the week. Do you have watery discharge too?

Hi Cindy, I’d suggest getting a blood test through your GP so you’ll know for sure, but judging by your symptoms, you do seem to be pregnant.

    Hi Tazzy!

Yes, my discharge is much more liquid and quite a lot.
Hope you get a positive test by the end of the week!

Thank you! Hopefully, we'll both get more clarity soon.

    Hi Anoniem,
I was thinking about that too. Hope my GP just gives in. They always prefer to send you home with just a paracetamol...

Hi Cindy, just insist that he gets you to have that blood test done. You have the right to it, and it’s also for your own peace of mind. Good luck, and be sure that you’re pregnant—must be almost certain.

Thank you so much, anonymous! I'll definitely call the doctor tomorrow and hope we're in for some joyful news! We're ready for a little miracle in our lives

Good stuff, Cindy. I'll say a little prayer for you guys.

After a lot of fuss and arguing, I’m finally allowed to get my blood drawn this afternoon.
My regular GP is, as usual, on vacation again (seems like she’s on holiday more often than actually working).
The covering doctor refused to see me because I’m not a “medical emergency” and told me to just make an appointment when my GP gets back from vacation. I didn’t buy that and insisted!
Now I’ve just popped in to pee and noticed light pink/brownish bleeding. Could this be the start of my period, or could it be implantation bleeding?

Hi Cindy, it could go either way, so let's wait a bit longer. Pink or brown discharge is sometimes a sign that your period is coming. Usually, if I test negative, it stays negative and my period comes a few days later. But it doesn't always happen like that, so let's wait a bit more. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't break through.
