A glass of alcohol and wanting to get pregnant

Hi,
As the title already says.
How do you guys handle this? We have a party next Monday. My friends expect me to really join in and have a good time. I’ve promised myself I’ll have a drink or two, but definitely not too much. Otherwise, it’ll be obvious to everyone. But I already feel guilty because what if I got pregnant this month? You don’t know yet, right? And what if that affects implantation? Oh, I have so many questions going through my head.

I don’t want to tell anyone in our friend group about our desire for a baby, because it could just take a year like it did with our first. And then they’ll keep asking, “Is it happening yet?” And that’s so frustrating. And what if it actually takes a year before I get pregnant? How can you really avoid drinking altogether? Of course, not during pregnancy itself—I definitely don’t drink then.

Don’t get me wrong, these parties aren’t common for us anymore. But this Monday is definitely a “party.”

Bye!

Yeah, it's tricky. Better to just not drink at all, just in case. You could say you're Bob or tell a little white lie that you need to take antibiotics for a bladder infection or something, and that you're not allowed to drink while on them. On the other hand, as long as you're not pregnant, you can just drink and eat whatever you want. It's up to you what you feel is responsible.

I hardly ever drink myself, but when I was trying to conceive, I only drank during the period between my period and my estimated ovulation. If I had sex after that, I didn't drink until I got my period again. That way, I was sure I wasn't pregnant on the few occasions when I did have a drink. But since I don't drink often and my husband enjoys a drink now and then, I was often the designated driver at parties, and no one gave me a weird look when I stuck to soft drinks.

I just drink a glass of wine until I know I’m pregnant. People will definitely ask questions. Or I’m the boss. If I say I have a bladder infection and I’m on antibiotics, they know enough...

    Thanks for the replies.
The "Bob" argument doesn't work, it's too close to home for us... Where we need to be
But I'll try to keep it low-key, and if needed, just have one glass along. Then say it doesn't agree with me or something

Just enjoy drinking and having a good time! You never know if you'll even manage to get pregnant, and if you're already worrying about that now, you're making it way harder for yourself. Besides, the baby isn't connected to you right away—that only happens after about 10 weeks of pregnancy.
I also ate delicious carpaccio afterward while I was already pregnant. Now I'm 38 weeks pregnant with a perfectly healthy baby.

voila, survived a night out with 'glow'. And no one noticed (I think).
Only had an aperitif, nothing else for the rest.
