Same name as a direct colleague

My direct colleague has a 5-year-old son named Luca, but they pronounce it as Loeka. We think it's a nice name too, but we'd prefer to say Luca with a u. It feels a bit like copying.

Don't worry about it; there are more dogs named Fikkie. She'll feel honored that you like the same name. Besides, what are the chances her son will ever come across yours? And if either of you ever runs into the other in a different job, you probably won't see each other again unless you're also good friends. Then it's a different story.

We only looked at family when choosing our names. You can't prevent kids with the same name ending up in the same class later on. And it's not guaranteed that your colleagues will stay for life.
So if you like him, don't hesitate!

I also think it's totally fine. What does it matter if she thinks it's copying?
