Has anyone had experience with early pregnancy tests?

Hi! I have a question: does anyone have good experiences with early pregnancy tests? Since I’m due to get my period next Monday and we have a party on Saturday (tomorrow), I’d like to test beforehand, but I’m not sure if they’re really reliable. If so, which ones are trustworthy? I’d love to hear from you all. Best wishes!

It really depends on how quickly your body produces the hCG hormone. There needs to be a certain amount of it in your urine for a test to show positive. Early tests are more sensitive to this hormone, but if you don't have enough yet, you might get a false negative. So if the test is negative, keep testing after your expected period in case you haven't started menstruating.

Did a Clearblue test on Saturday morning, the one you can take up to 5 days before your expected period. Unfortunately, it said 'not pregnant', but I'll just have to wait and see... Well, tomorrow is my expected period, so if I haven't started by tomorrow morning, I'll do a test first thing tomorrow morning (I usually get my period right on the expected day), so now I just have to wait until tomorrow morning... I'll let you know.

Yesss! After being a few days late and having lots of negative tests, I got a blood test done (4 days late). The result was NOT pregnant, but the doctor saw that my egg had ruptured recently. But then I suddenly had sore breasts, especially when running up the stairs. I thought I'd test again, and guess what? PREGNANT! I couldn't believe my eyes. I'd used a cheap test from Action, so I immediately bought a Clearblue one, which said 1-2 weeks pregnant. I still can't believe it, especially since I've thought so many times that I was pregnant!! So maybe your hCG takes longer to kick in, or your egg ruptured later.
    Good luck!
