Stabbing pain in the lower abdomen

JustMe
I have a question and hope you guys can help me out a bit.
My boyfriend and I really want a baby, we've been together for 4 years now and recently started living together.
So far, I haven't gotten pregnant yet (I've been off the pill for 3 months now).
Yesterday, I felt a sharp pain on the right side of my lower abdomen during sex.
Just before I went to sleep, I felt that same pain again.
I told my boyfriend about it, and he got a bit worried (as did I).
Can anyone give me an answer about this pain? Or does anyone know what it could mean?

It could be anything. It might be that the community was just a bit too rough. It could be ovulation, or it could be gas in the intestines that's stuck. It could even be appendicitis, kidney issues, or gallstones if the pain gets worse. It's hard to determine from here. I'm leaning towards the first possibility because I don't know your cycle. I assume that if it were one of the latter issues, you'd have much more pain by now and would be wise to consult your GP.

I had this on Friday too, and my ovulation was about to kick in. Maybe it was the same for you?
