Freeke?

What do you think of the girl's name Freeke? The full name would be Frederique Hanna, but as a nickname, Freeke. We came across this name by chance and are curious about your associations.
Greetings, Janna and Han

I personally don't think Freeke is a beautiful name; I also find it quite masculine.
    Sorry

When you say it out loud, it sounds almost the same as "wreken" (revenge). I also think it sounds a bit harsh. I like Fieke better, for example.

I know a Frederique with the nickname Freedje, but honestly, I think that sounds too harsh.

Although I agree with what others are saying on one hand, I do think Freeke has something special.
(be careful with Fieke due to the German connection)

Thank you for your kind and honest opinions. We hadn't even considered Wreken ourselves, so it's really good that it was mentioned. But now I find the name much less appealing. We were also thinking about:
    Madelief - Lieke - Wieke - Frederique (as a nickname) - Mirte - Evi
Quite different names, maybe, but oh well... What do you think is the most beautiful among these?

I know a Frederique and she's affectionately called Freek. I think that's cool and tough. If it's a princess, then Frederique is beautiful. So just go for it. Although I would go for the full name.

Madelief - especially a sweet name. For a sweet, slim girl. Not so fitting for a tough or sturdy type.
Lieke - quite nice, a bit ordinary
    Wieke - nice
Frederique - can also be spelled as Frederieke, if applicable. Anyway, I'd advise against Frédérique. Those accents combined with the length of the name: a pain to type. It's quite mouthful, such a long name.
    Mirte - nice
    Evi - nice

Out of your list, I like Mirte the best. Evi is also nice!
I wouldn't personally choose Freeke, but it doesn't sound too weird either! I'd go with Frederieke (ique) as the official name.

Super cute name, Frederique! And people always come up with a nickname or short form anyway... So just call her Fré or Freeke, no one will think it's weird..
I've been called "Au" or "Autje" my whole life... sounds weird too, right?

    Madelief! Super cute name!

I think Madelief is great (also for tough girls), I've thought about it myself too, but on Babybytes various girls with that name said they were called "made" (made up), and I find that quite a dilemma... On the other hand, they can come up with something for everything...
    Lieke is a nice name.
I think Wieke is less appealing.
    I like Frederique, it's cheerful.
Mirte is okay, I don't find it so pleasant to pronounce but that might just be me...
I don't think Evi is ugly but it's a bit childish.
I was also thinking of Lieve or Mathilde.
