Twin for Léon

Harmke Guest ·
Hi hi!
My name is Harmke, and I’ve been together with Roy for several years. We have a son; Léon, and I’m now pregnant with twins! We already know the genders; we’re having a boy and a girl. Right now, we’re considering these names:
Margot Carmen Isabelle
Magnus Hugo Carlos
Do you think this is a nice combination? Also with Léon included? Roy (my husband) was adopted and originally comes from Colombia. Our kids are thus lightly tanned. Is it weird if you’re called Margot? Is that too Dutch? We really want a name that fits the child, obviously, but that’s why we’re still hesitating.
I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Love, Harmke and Roy

I'm not really a fan of the name Margot, but that's obviously personal. I also find the g-sounds in both names a bit harsh. Magnus (and Margot, by the way) feels more fitting for a Northern European child and less so for a child with darker skin. Maybe Mingus could be an alternative? Tough choice, though.

    Nice combo, I think!
I understand your hesitation, but hey, what does the shade matter Follow your gut!

I totally get your hesitation, but I think it's a lovely combination. I find Margot a really nice name—I'm a big fan of old-fashioned names. Magnus feels a bit less appealing to me than Margot, but still nice. Especially when combined with Léon.
