My thoughts on the boy's name "Tacks"

Hey,
My husband and I are thinking about naming our first son Tacks.
Since it's not exactly the most common name, we thought we'd check with the local municipal office first to see if this would cause any issues.
The looks I got there spoke volumes. Is the name that ugly or terrible (and are we just blinded by the arrival of our first child)? Or should we just ignore it?

How is it pronounced? Teks or Taks? Personally, I don't find either very appealing... but I don't think it's a name you couldn't give your child. So if your gut feeling is positive, go for it

Apart, but I do like it.
Maybe an option to write 'Tax' instead, like for example the name Jax (same pronunciation?). Or is that weird, I guess now? -

I personally immediately think of tag, tagged... he is special though.
Would then indeed go for tax faster. -

In English it sounds like "tax," which means belasting, and in Dutch it reminds me of "aan je taks zitten," so mja... I'm not that enthusiastic. -

Jack, Mack, or Zack, I think they're all fine. But Tacks? I do have associations with the English "tax" and "tacks." And with "teckel."
