I think the double 'e's are quite cool, but my husband is hesitant.
We think Dex sounds a bit cooler,

Do you pronounce Dax as Dex? Then I’d just write it as Dex, otherwise it’ll only cause confusion. And anyway, with one x, the second x is unnecessary. -
