What should I do?

I have a dilemma. I stopped taking the pill 3 months ago. My first period after stopping was after 3 weeks, and the next one came after 5 weeks. That last period ended in late August. So I should be getting my period again now, but lately I've been feeling different things in my body.

I've had some mild stomach pain and cramps for a few days—not constant, but coming and going. Online, I read that this symptom can happen because the uterus is growing. Since today, my breasts have been a bit tender. Otherwise, I'm not feeling nauseous and don't have any extreme cravings.

I just bought a Clear Blue test at the supermarket, but the instructions say you should test before or after your period. Since I don't know exactly when my period is due, I'm not sure.

What do you all think? Is there a chance I'm pregnant or not? Should I try the Clear Blue test or buy a different one? I'm not sure what to do right now. Can you help me?

Because you've only just stopped the pill, you don't know your cycles yet. It can easily take 6 weeks before you get your period. As I see it, there are 3 options:

    1) You're not pregnant, you'll probably get your period between now and 2 weeks
    2) You're just pregnant
    3) You've been pregnant for a bit longer

For options 1 and 2, the test will say 'not pregnant'. If you still haven't gotten your period after a week, it's best to test again.

You could also choose to wait another week anyway before testing, because if you're very early in pregnancy (less than 2 weeks), there's a slightly higher chance it might miscarry in a few days, and most people would rather not know that at all.

    Good luck!
