How do I tell my work?

Hi everyone,
First off, I just want to say how much I appreciate being able to ask you guys this question! I'm dealing with this:
I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant and so relieved to finally be past the stressful period of fearing a miscarriage. Actually, everyone in my circle already knows, but now I have to tell my work. The thing is, I'm really scared to tell them. I only recently returned home for a year due to mental health issues, and now I'm reintegrating at work just one day a week. This was supposed to gradually increase, but I also have to go through an expert assessment by the UWV (Dutch Social Security Agency). I'm so afraid they'll pull me out of the reintegration process because of this, especially since I'm still not fully better.. I'm also worried about getting a negative reaction. I was raised by my boss's best friend, but we've lost contact due to various things. Can I ask him not to tell him?

As for your boss and his best friend, sure you can ask him. Whether he really won’t say anything, well, you’ll just have to trust that.
I don’t think they’ll take you out of the reintegration program since you can still work for now until you need to go on leave, as long as you’re physically able to. So in that regard, you can still use that time to focus on your recovery by continuing with the program. Probably the program will be put on hold during your leave, but you can ask how that works once you announce that you’re pregnant. I hope you get positive responses, because getting pregnant is a gift, especially when it’s wanted.

I understand your doubts. I just happened to recover from a broken shoulder and have been working from home a lot because of it. Unfortunately for me, I still don't have a permanent contract. I'm now 16 weeks and told them today. With heavy hearts, but the news was received with tears by my team leader. A huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders now, and the enjoyment can truly begin in full swing!! Good luck, you can do it, girl.

    Love,
