Having sex before ovulation

I was wondering, how often do you have sex before ovulation? In previous cycles, I did it every day for three days leading up to my ovulation until the egg. But now I’m not pregnant, so I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong?

    And are you sure that day was your ovulation day?
    We were also trying for months and it turned out my ovulation happened on a different day (through testing)...

    I'm now in my fourth cycle. In the first and second rounds, I felt my ovulation very clearly. Last time I felt nothing but assumed it was about two weeks before my period. This time I really want to start using ovulation tests. I'm going to start with them soon, but should I have sex every day or every other day? I hear so many different stories about sperm surviving for 3-7 days, but I don't think mine is that robust

    Doesn't matter much, I think. We did it whenever we felt like it, and on the day of the positive test, we made sure we were in the mood

    Three days before ovulation is pretty tight.. I'd definitely keep going every other day until 1 day past ovulation. That way you're sure not to miss it.

    What day of your cycle are you on now? And do you have a regular cycle?

    Yes, every other day or two days, not three..

    I'm on day 12 now. I do have a somewhat varying cycle, 28/31/29. Or does it not vary that much? I don't know about earlier cycles!

    Then I'd really start having sex every other day for about a week or so.
    Maybe it'd be good for you to install an app where you can track your cycle.
    I use "My Calendar" – it's handy and nice.

    I just realized now that it's actually already too late to start on day 12. Because in two days I'll already be halfway through my cycle..

    Yeah, if you don't do anything, it's too late anyway. And it's not too late yet. Have you ever used ovulation tests? You can buy them at the Action, 5 for €2.50. When the test is positive, you've hit your peak, and ovulation will occur within 12 to 24 hours.

    Well, after I got a clear line on my ovulation test yesterday and we went for it, I hope it rises steadily and doesn't turn positive right away, otherwise there's little chance this cycle.

    We used the digital tests from ClearBlue, quite a bit more expensive but for me, much clearer
    After 2 rounds, it was a hit.

    Testing every day and on peak days, the test shows a smiley, otherwise just an empty O.

    I think I'll ovulate sometime between now and tomorrow morning! I've been having all sorts of sharp pains on the right side. I'm so upset that I only managed to make use of last night! Looks like another wasted round.

    I've noticed that every round when ovulation shifts, it's incredibly hard for me! Hope it comes the day after tomorrow, hehe!
