dutchfly
Hi there,

I'm dutchfly, 25 years old, and my boyfriend and I are ready for the next step: a baby! We're hoping to be blessed with one.

I stopped the pill at the end of July (not that long ago), but my cycle hasn't really kicked in yet. I'm testing every day with the ovulation tests from Action, but so far no result except for a faint pink line. I'm now on day 44 of my cycle and hope things will start up soon. I know this can sometimes take a bit longer.

I came across this forum through a friend/family member. After looking around a bit, I already love it here! I love the tips you can share, the stories, and especially supporting each other as future mamas!

Lots of love,

    Hi Dutchfly,

It's nice that you're joining in on the chat and reading along.

It might take a little while. With my first pregnancy, I stopped the pill abruptly. I had agreed to stop taking it as soon as we got the keys to our house. So that was right in the middle of my pack
Eventually, I got my period a few days after stopping, then the cycle was 4 days later, then 2 days later, and then I was pregnant! When should you expect your period?

    Love,

    Haaai Mamanaoufie and Dreambaby,

It's so nice to hear how things went for others, and also lovely to hear that you got pregnant so quickly! My period was supposed to start on September 1st, but nothing yet. I did take a test, and it was negative. It's really exciting either way!

    Liefs!

Yeah, my second pregnancy went faster, but unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks on August 20th.

I stopped the pill halfway through June because I ran out of strips and thought, "come on..." Got pregnant right away. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a miscarriage. Because a piece of the gestational sac remained in my uterus, I only just got clean now and have a follow-up appointment on Thursday. No idea when I should get my period, but I'm just going with the flow.

Hmm, so that's quite a while overdue. Did you take one test or multiple? And when?

How nice that you're joining in on the chat
Haha, why not also join in on the November and maybe October threads?

    Hi Dutchfly,

During my son's pregnancy, I tested my HCG in the evening and it was positive; the next day, the line was even darker with morning urine.

In this last pregnancy, I only tested positive after 5 days past ovulation, but it was faint. And the days before were negative, and 2 days later it was faint again. And yes, you know the rest of the story..

What do your ovulation tests show?

I got sick this morning. I’m so glad I don’t have to wait 6 months like I’ve read some people do. Now I’m testing every day with the ovulation test for my second round.

    How are you doing, mamanaoufie?
  8. MamaN #9

Yeah, now you can at least start counting and stuff.

Things are going well with me, no idea when I should get my period, I'll just see. The gynecologist can also see if you've ovulated or something, so I might ask tomorrow if anything's coming up regarding my period or ovulation.

    Good luck tomorrow, MamaNaoufie!
  10. MamaN #11

Thank you, Flubke! I’ve been noticing a lot of that slimy stuff lately—could that be my ovulation or something? Especially when wiping.. yeah, I know, sounds pretty gross
  11. Flubke #12

Yes, that's definitely possible! Otherwise, try searching for it on Google. Do you happen to have an ovulation test at home? You could use that and see if it lights up!

Indd suc6 tomorrow mamanaoufie, and it could very well be ovulation. I've read that more often..
And I can start counting now and test for ovulation every day..

Let me know tomorrow how it went.
  13. MamaN #14

I don't have any ovulation tests at home, hehe. Never used them either. Can I just ask my gynecologist about it later, or is that weird?
  14. DreamBaby #15

You can ask the gynecologist anything, so why would your question be weird if you're asking it to the gynecologist .
  15. MamaN #16

Yeah, I don't know.. because I'm coming for a follow-up check after a miscarriage. It's also partly because of the past few weeks when I called about heavy bleeding and they basically acted like I was nagging, even though there was actually a piece of the gestational sac still attached. So now I feel like a nuisance just for asking something or even for coming at all..

MamaN, trust your own instincts, no matter what the doctor says. I sometimes think, oh no! The doctor already sees me coming.. But better to go too often for nothing, than once too late.

I'm curious about your follow-up appointment and what they say..
  17. MamaN #18

Well, good news! I'm completely clean. The gynecologist said that my cervical mucus was making a bed for a pregnancy and that there was a dominant big egg that was either about to pop or had already popped. Uhm.. Can someone explain that to me? I have no idea what it means but she said that for safety's sake I should probably start packing now.
  18. Flubke #19

Top news! Wishing you lots of success and especially lots of fun tonight
  19. MamaN #20

So if he's already jumped, what does that mean then? Does that mean he's already been there? But could she see that he was fertilized? She said a big dominant egg hahaha wow what a description
