Which name??

Hi everyone,
I’m the mom of Emma and Livia, and I’m pregnant with my third child. We’re finding it really hard to come up with a nice name. We’re thinking of Julius for a boy and Saphira for a girl. What do you all think? Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

For a boy, maybe Joris or Floris? Or Maarten or Jelle?
For a girl, maybe Flora, Sophia, or Amelie?

I think your name choice is really beautiful and original! Timeless too, especially.

    @Hyacint
    Thanks for the ideas.
I think Floris is really nice. Amélie is beautiful, it's on the list . Sophia is also very nice, but maybe it looks a bit too much like Livia?

    @Nannie
    Thank you! Nice to hear

Nice names, Emma and Livia. But I also think Saphira is beautiful.
Julius and for example Floris I find a bit less, a bit too hockey-ish in my opinion (sorry!).

Do you know the Voornaamwijzer? (from naamkunde.net). I think you can get some inspiration there too.

I came across Florian for example, I also think it matches nicely with your daughters' names.

We've thought about the names again and we're torn between the following names:
    Julius and Marcus
    Saphira and Amélie
Which do you think is prettier? And do you have any other suggestions?
By the way, what do you think of Isolde? I love it, but my husband hesitates because you don't hear it that often, or if it's too unique.

Marcus is also nice. I think Julius sounds a bit more elegant, Marcus a bit more cool.
Saphira also sounds a bit more cool to me than Amélie.
Isolde: also a great name. Not too unusual for me. It'll grow on you anyway. Fits well with your daughters' names.
It does remind me of Tristan, maybe that's still an option for a boy? Or Fabian?

I think Saphira is really beautiful and original!

I personally think Amélie is really beautiful!
For a boy, I think Florian or Julian fit well.
Good luck! You'll definitely find a beautiful name!

If I had to choose between Marcus or Julius, I'd go with Julius, I think.

I think Saphira and Amelie are really beautiful names. I'm not a fan of the boy names.

I know an Isolde! And she's a beautiful woman, by the way.

I’d go for Amelie! Isolde and Saphira aren’t really my taste...
And what do you think of Sophie instead of Sophia?

Thank you all so much for your responses . It's nice to read! Choosing is terribly difficult, we haven't gotten any further yet. It's between Julius, Markus or Tristan (probably Tristan will be the second name) Amélie, Isolde or Saphira I'd love to hear if you have any other ideas. And I also like to hear what kind of personality you imagine for the name.
  15. zomaar Guest #16

Julius: a bit cheeky. But cheerful.
Markus (I think with a c looks nicer): tough, solid
Tristan: no strong association regarding the type. Can go either way.

Amélie: classic girl-girl, lively. I don't find the name so pleasant to say.
Isolde: tough and also feminine. Don't mess with her. I see a leader in her.
Saphira: cheerful feminine, but also strong.

Any other ideas (sorry if they've already been mentioned):

    boy:
    Lucian / Lucien
    Justin (pronounced in Dutch)
    Julian

    girl:
    Lucy
    Fiene
    Rosa / Rosan
    Hinde / Linde / Wende
    Vianne / Viënne

Yesterday our 3rd princess was born . We named her Rosaline Isolde Eliv. Nickname Rosa! Rosaline is named after her grandma Caroline. We just thought Isolde was really beautiful and Eliv is a combination of Emma and Livia.
Thank you so much for helping us think it through!

Congratulations! And what beautiful names, truly stunning and a great match with the other girls. Also really nice how you named them.

Wishing you all the best together!

    I think Sophie fits best.
I also think Amelie is nice, or Aimee.
I find it hard to pick boy names in this category.
