Hi ladies.
Do you know a good way to calculate your fertile period? Yes, ovulation tests and temperatures, but how do you figure out when you're actually fertile?

your first day of your last period plus 14 days, then you're often fertile, at least for most women..
Then plus 16 from day 14 and then you have your EDD (estimated due date)
But since every woman is different, it could also be on day 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13 that varies quite a bit.

Are you expecting your first baby?
And if you feel like it, you can also chat in the EDD thread...

This is our second baby, unfortunately I'm thinking about it too much. I've had my period since yesterday... And last month it started on the 6th-8th.
Last time it went so quickly, this time it will probably take a bit longer, so I'm also going to dive into my fertile days.

It really depends on your cycle. If your cycle is long, you ovulate late. And if you have a short cycle, you ovulate early.

But basically, it works like this: you're already fertile before ovulation, so you should make the most of the time leading up to it. For example, if you have a 28-day cycle, it's not just the 14th day (ovulation day) that matters, but also the few days before ovulation. To maximize your chances of getting pregnant, it's best to have intercourse every other day. From day 10 after your period until day 18. That way, you'll make the best use of your chances.

Sorry, I don't quite understand yet. I'm now finished with my period. When is the best time to start testing for ovulation, or when would my ovulation be approximately? I had a cycle of about 33 days.

Hi mom - jay doesn't mind
if you had a cycle of 33 days, that would mean a very late ovulation.

I think that falls on the 25th in a 33-day cycle.
Either way, it's late in your cycle.

So you think it falls between the 20th and 27th? Try to enjoy it and not think about it too much, but I don't want to miss ovulation.
