How long does the test stay positive?

Hi ladies,

I had a miscarriage on August 20th at 9 weeks pregnant. Last Tuesday I did a pregnancy test to see if all the HCG was gone from my system, and I did another one last night. Last Tuesday it was really, really positive, and last night it still was, maybe a bit less now, and the line came up a bit slower. On Tuesday the line appeared immediately.

I’m also still spotting a bit, that brownish stuff you know, like at the end of your period and the last bit after giving birth. But when I go to the toilet, wiping still shows a bit of bloody, mucus-like stuff. I have an appointment with the gynecologist on September 22nd to see if everything is clear. Is it normal that the tests are still positive now and I’m still having a bit of bleeding? I’d really like to be clear again, and then especially fertile of course.

Does anyone have experience with this?

    Hey girl!

Sending you strength through this loss. I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks and tested until the hCG was gone from my body. I started testing again as soon as I stopped bleeding. Four weeks later, when I tested positive, I knew it was a new pregnancy. And guess what the ultrasound showed? Twins!

Hopefully, this gives you some hope. Sending you lots of strength, girl!

How long did it take after your bleeding stopped until you tested negative?

    Thank you so much!!!

Actually, about a week or so.. And a week later after that negative test, I felt my ovulation again. That really gave me hope!

    Stay strong, girl!!

Wow, yes, I'd love to believe that! Your story gives me hope too!

Are you 16 weeks pregnant now? That's exciting! Do you already know the sex of your babies?
