Hi,
I'm 5 weeks pregnant now. I really want to tell everyone, is that wise? How did you do it?

    Hi Lindi, huge congratulations!

We told our family right away. We worked a bit later. Never regretted it. I've always wondered how some people manage to wait because that would NEVER work for me!

We actually told it pretty casually. Drove by and said 'You're going to be grandma/grandpa etc.'

    Love, Sietske

    Hi Sietske,

    Congratulations to you too!!
My parents already know, in 2 months my partner and I are getting married, but the bachelorette parties are coming up and my friends don't know yet. Would you mind telling them too?
I think so, but I'm hesitating haha
    Love, Lindy

    Congratulations, Lindy!
I’d maybe tell your friends within a month or so. That way, they still have time to adjust their bachelor party plans.
Unless you already know exactly what you’ll have to do at the bachelor parties and don’t drink alcohol anyway. If not, it’ll probably stand out a lot if you’re more cautious than usual and skip the alcohol.

I waited until I was 3 months along for our own peace of mind (except with my parents and best friend, you want someone to talk to about it, right?

But my partner and I agreed on this because the risk of miscarriage is still too high until the 3-month mark. You don't want just anyone asking you how your baby is doing if you've lost it. Then you'd also have to explain everywhere why things went wrong, even though you might not feel like doing that at all!! I'd just burst into tears every time!!

Definitely think it over carefully!!! And congratulations!!! So happy for you! XXX

By the way, if you want to wait, you don't have to say you're already pregnant because of your bachelorette party. You could also say that you've "started" trying and that you don't want to take any risks with alcohol... Good luck!!

We told them practically right away..
And about your bachelorette party, I would definitely tell them.. not so much because of the alcohol, you can talk your way out of that, but you never know what you might end up doing, what if they want to go bungee jumping? (pick anything) You're not allowed to do that if you're pregnant. Just think, when the word bachelorette party comes up, most friends get super excited with their ideas!!

Hi, I'm also exactly 5 weeks today... We're going to tell the grandparents when we've had our first ultrasound... It's really hard to keep it to yourself, but in the beginning, it's always a risk... Congratulations and good luck! Maybe you could just tell the grandparents and wait until after 3 months to tell the rest?
