Forum Baby Names

Suggestions?

Hi,

We're looking for a nice name for our baby. We like the following:
Girl: Sophie/Sophia (favorite), Fem/Femme, Emma, Liv.
These are often seen as hockey names. But we don't like the hockey names for boys (like Floris etc., no offense!)
As for boy names, we like:
Dex, James, Daan, Jesse, Lucas, Liam.

But on the other hand, we also like a slightly less popular name.
Does anyone have a suggestion that fits our category a bit?
I work with kids so I hear a lot of names.

In short, something a bit unique but not Scrabble names
Or what do you think of the names we've come up with so far?

If you can follow my idea, are you looking for something less common but still easy to pronounce?
I'm thinking of Livia, Lio, Jill, Fie, Nette, Fenne, Siënna, Cleo,... for a girl.
For a boy, I was thinking of Matte (it took a bit of getting used to when I first heard it, but I think it's a lovely name), Giel, Thian, Lias, Lion, Ilya, Jona, Lasse.
Hopefully, you find something you like with these

It doesn't come across to me as hockey names. Personally, I don't think Liv is such a nice name. Sophie, apart from the fact that this name is very common, I've never really liked it myself. I always find it a bit too proper and boring; I can't really explain it, I've never had any connection with that name. With Emma, I picture an older woman—not bad, the name, but also not exactly my cup of tea. The boy names are okay though. I think my eldest daughter's name is Yara, a beautiful, cheerful name Jasmine is also very beautiful and a lovely name if you're into that. Fay, pronounced like 'fee', is also nice. Tirza, Isabel. Boy names, maybe Julian, maybe that's nice? Or Nick?

Fleur Claire might also be nice for a girl

Thanks!! I can definitely use that! I've got some inspiration again. I also think Yara is really beautiful, but if she's present in our circle ????. And Lias for a boy, I think is cool too!
