Wanted baby, but partner isn't...

Hi everyone!

In mid-2014, we unexpectedly got pregnant with our first little miracle. It came as a big surprise, and both my husband and I needed some time to get used to the idea. We had agreed not to start a family right away, even though we were at the right age (mid/late 20s), had a spacious house, and both had job security.

In early 2015, our first child was born, and we are both overjoyed! We have a dream baby! Everything is going smoothly, and we have no complaints. We’re also lucky to have both sets of parents we can always turn to.

I’ve been “feeling the ovaries rumble” for quite a while now. I have a very strong desire for a second child. When I see pregnant moms, I’m secretly (and healthily) jealous, and when I see those little ones, I get butterflies in my stomach... I really, really want to experience it all again.

Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t feel the same way. He’s happy with how things are now and doesn’t want a second child.

I’ve had a few serious conversations with him about this, but his decision remains firm. I thought I could accept his decision, but I’m finding that I can’t quite let it go. Even though I love our child so much, I feel like something is missing.

Are there any moms here in the same situation or who have been?
How did you cope with this?
Did the feeling/desire ever pass?

All tips and stories are welcome!

    Hi girl,

My son was born last May. About 3 months ago, I started feeling those little kicks in my belly again. For my husband, it wasn't really time yet; he already thought things were 'heavy' as they were. Then my pill ran out and I had to pick up a new pack at the pharmacy where I told my husband I'm really not going to get it. Haha

That same month I was still pregnant, which made him react quite happily. He knew, of course, what the consequences of having sex without contraception are. Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage last week. But my husband and I have now decided that I'm not going back on the pill and we'll just wait and see what happens.

So yeah.. maybe his feelings will change once you stop the pill haha

    Love
