That's really unfortunate, especially when you're getting so many "signals" from your body—it's such a disappointment. What are you going to do now? Safe sex for the coming months? You have to be careful with that virus, unfortunately It feels like a double bind; you want the best for your baby, so waiting is the best option, but when you're ready to get pregnant again, you'd rather have done it yesterday than today...

Yes, that's definitely a tough choice! Anyway, be careful for the next 2 months because of the due date around the time of the move. And get in touch with Curaçao to find out how serious it is there and in which months it's especially bad. Maybe if I'm in my last 2 months of pregnancy, it won't be so dangerous.

    Hi Maantje,

I'm from that area and hear that most people who can temporarily move back to the NL to finish their pregnancy.
However, I also know ladies who have had a very healthy baby there in the past year.
I also wanted children when I was there, but that ZIKA thing kept me busy though. It is still not clear what is real and what is fables. Because all deformed babies come from the same region in Brazil and there are parties who claim that it comes from polluted groundwater that the babies are deformed. But because they also carry the ZIKA virus, they blame the virus for the abnormalities.
ZIKA is in many countries in the area, but in a single country, deformed babies have been born. Only in Hawaii was a deformed baby with ZIKA born, but the mother was during her pregnancy in that area in Brazil where the groundwater is also polluted. So yes, what is true and what is not true???

    Hey Toetje!

    It's indeed a bit vague!
I'm keeping this house so it's possible to spend my pregnancy here, but since we're going for 3 years, I think it's a pity to stay here in my little bubble hihi.. I have the feeling it'll all work out fine, I'll start working again in November and we'll just have to see what the future brings! Anyway, thanks for your reassurance Is giving birth there very different from here? Or do you not know..

I didn't give birth in Curaçao, so unfortunately I can't share anything from personal experience. But I think everything is pretty good there, actually...
