Hi!

What are your ideas for the birth sugar? Anyone have some fun, original ideas you'd like to share?

Maybe a silly question, but what is gestational diabetes?

It's basically "doopsuiker" from those little white round chocolates with a layer of sugar glaze on top in white, pink, or blue. Very tasty. You share them at a birth.

But actually, it's really traditionally Catholic.
So I'm giving it a twist, okay.. I'm looking for an alternative and making it myself..
For the kids, it'll be a little bear with a bag of candies or something like that.
I haven't figured out the rest yet. I found a homemade paper sock (Doosje) also nice, that my brother and sister-in-law gave..
I'm still busy with the cards..
But search Google for images.. If you find something nice, there's usually a site linked too..

    hi
we also do it among Muslims, but we see it as a little treat, so to speak, and you as baptism sugar.

I know that the AVA has all kinds of little trinkets, but you have to put them together yourself.

    greetings

We won’t give any of those hard sugar candies. I don’t really like eating them myself.
We’re going to use different glass jars filled with various things:
    - homemade advocaat
    - bath salts
    - small sugar candies (more like M&M’s)
    - jenever (this will go in a small glass bottle)

For the kids, a bag of candy with a bubble blower.

Soon we’ll buy the stuff and can start filling and decorating. Yippee!

That's why I called it 'birth sugar'—our baby won't be baptized. With our first, I filled glass bottles with red and white port, and for the kids, I included a translucent ball with an orange or yellow rubber duck inside.

    Hey, that's a fun idea!!
    Bath salts for the women..
Rum or genever for the men..
Candy for the kids (I think those little bath ones are fun too!!)

    Yep, that works perfectly!!
