Saul reminds me of the character Saul Goodman from the American series 'Better Call Saul'.
A slick, criminal guy, but I don't think he's very well known in the NL

I don't know the Christian meaning and all that.

If you think it's nice, I'd just go for it!

    Yeah, I know that series too but think about Saul from Homeland too.. I think he's a good, old, faithful buddy

    Ha,

    I’d never name my kid that myself since I’m Christian and, as you said, I associate this name with biblical history. And as you mentioned, that history isn’t exactly positive.

    So I wouldn’t do it; I’d pick another tough name instead.
    Let us know what name it ended up being!

    Nice name!

    I don't know the biblical connection myself. But if it feels like a double meaning to you, you should definitely think it over carefully.

    It would be a shame otherwise, I really think it's a lovely (and unique) name!
