Nightmares

Dear fellow moms (to be)

For the past week or so, I've been having a lot of nightmares.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Last night I dreamed that a burglar broke into our place and was going to steal our baby.

I know, it sounds weird, but still?!!!

Love, Kim

    Hi Kimjoy,

That's really tough that you're having nightmares. It might sound a bit silly, but did you maybe watch a movie where things like that happen? Or maybe you're stressing yourself out thinking burglars might break in?

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it... it'll go away on its own, I'm sure!

    Good luck!

    Best,
    Cintya

    Hi,

I've read on several sites that those nightmares are very normal during pregnancy, especially in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters.

    That's nice, of course!
I wish you lots of beautiful dreams for the coming nights! No more nightmares. But well, we're so busy with the little one in our belly anyway. Getting up with it and going to sleep.

    Fingers crossed!

So relatable, I think a lot of pregnant women experience this. I don't know what causes it, but it goes away on its own.

I also had tons of nightmares during my first pregnancy, like about my baby being kidnapped and stuff. Really awful!!! Luckily they're just dreams

    Oh, a fellow sufferer!!
For me, they hang around for days!
I once had a severe depression and the only thing I remember from that time are the nightmares. So realistic and all the details, when I tell them now (4 years later) I still get emotional!!! (I wrote them off back then)

I almost had a miscarriage that felt so real, I saw the panic and my husband's reaction that I truly doubted in the morning whether it hadn't really happened that night! Incredible.

Warm milk with anise seeds before you go to sleep!!! You sleep like a log without dreams! It seems like anise takes away your subconscious! It works!!

Ladies, it's so nice to hear that I'm not the only one.

I've had miscarriages before, so even though I'm halfway through, I still have a big fear! Maybe that's related to this.

    Olivia, I'll try that!
    Thanks!

In your dreams, you combine your fears with your ideals. I struggle with this too—when I see something on TV, I dream about it and mix it with thoughts of my baby (not fun either). I try to imagine as many nice things as possible before going to sleep. Sleeping isn't very pleasant right now, which also lowers my immunity, so I always drink chamomile tea, but I'll definitely try those anise seeds in milk! I could use a good night's rest

    Greetings

I'm really struggling with this too! I'm pregnant with our first baby and I'm now 34 weeks. I've had a few dreams where I forgot to turn on the baby monitor and then completely forgot that I even had a baby! I find it a terrible dream, but I know I'll never actually forget!

Now you're prepared for that too!!
    Those dreams are awful!..

Just like that old lady who gave birth to a baby at 80!!!
The family couldn't believe it. When they visited and asked to see the baby, she said:
"Yes, everything's fine, she's healthy too."
"But can we see her now?"
    "Just a moment, she's sleeping."
After two hours, they were still there!
"But seriously, when can we see your baby??"
"When she wakes up, or if she starts crying... I don't remember where I put her anymore.."

    Hey,

I also had tons of dreams about the weirdest and craziest things. This definitely lasted until week 20..
    cheers
