Start with fruit puree

I’m going to start giving Lena fruit puree in about a week, when she’s 4 months old.
Anyone with experience: what should I definitely NOT do? Or what should I definitely DO?
Which types of fruit are good to start with?
How do I prepare the fruit puree?
I’ve already Googled it, found quite a bit, but I’d rather hear from people with actual experience ;-)
Should I juice the fruit myself? Or is there a specific type I should use?

I just started with banana a few days ago, then pear for a few days, and then banana and pear together... Just peel and blend everything thoroughly with a hand blender.

You can cook the fruit and all that, but personally I think that's nonsense.

By the way, I did start with veggies first (broccoli and then carrot). Fruit is obviously sweeter than veggies; if you start with fruit, she might not want veggies later because they're not as sweet..!

I had my two oldest daughters in the meantime with toddlers, already at 6 months with a fruit jar from Olvarit. Now with our third princess, I only give her formula, she doesn't get anything else.
She is now 4 months old.
But because she already often makes yummy sounds and especially when I eat something, she takes it all in I have the feeling that she is ready for jars already, but I still want to continue for now with only formula. And I want, just like you, to start with my two oldest daughters at 6 months with that.
But if it turns out that she is really ready for it, then I will have to start earlier with fruit jars.
I find it difficult for myself, but I will still give formula in between.
I'll watch it for another month.
But I have the feeling that she is ready for it.
If it turns out that your child is ready, just do it.
Wants child is different with his or her own development.

If you notice that your little one is ready, just go for it.
Every child has their own development.
    Every child is different.
Sorry, the above was written a bit hastily.

    I've started with veggies.
Xander is 5 months old now.
I got a Avent steam blender from Avent—it's ideal.
I steam fruit for 5 minutes, then you just blend it and it's ready to puree.

For veggies, I've done carrot, broccoli, green beans with potato.
Steam for 20 minutes, then puree.
