Choosing between Lois or Lea

Hi,

I'm now 34 weeks pregnant, and my husband and I still can't agree on a name for our daughter...
Baby name choice stress!!!

We'd like a short, tough-sounding name... And it has to be easy to spell because we have a last name that she'll probably have to spell her whole life..

The options are:
Lois (pronounced like "Lowis" or Lea (with or without a hyphen after the e).

I'd love to hear your opinions!

My husband prefers Lois, and I prefer Lea, haha..

    I think Lois is more beautiful than Lea.
    I also think Lea is pretty, but Lois is much more beautiful.
    I find Lois a beautiful feminine name that’s also strong at the same time.
    Oh haha, I know that feeling—I had the same with our third daughter.
    We had different opinions about names with my husband.
    I really liked Jasmijn for our girl,
    and my husband liked Luna a lot.
    I thought it was nice too, but I just couldn’t see that name fitting with my kids. In the end, it became Jasmijn
    But to get back to this topic,
    I would go for Lois.

    I think both are beautiful names.
    Loïs feels a bit more lively and cheerful to me than Lea (without a hyphen on the e, adding nothing extra with the hyphen). So I find Lea a bit heavier. You could also add an h after it, Leah.
    Do you put dots on the i in Loïs?

    I fear she'll have to spell both names...
    Lea or Leah. "Lea without an H," it'll be then.
    And I automatically pronounce Lois as Loojs, Loïs as Lowis.

    A friend of mine had a daughter who writes Lois but says Loïs, and now she always has to add that it's without the diaeresis.

    I think Lois is really pretty, but I know someone who's called Lois and she's always referred to by the name as it's spelled. I think Lea is beautiful too!
