Hi everyone,

Quick question.
Our 9-week-old son is doing well and has been on formula since birth because he couldn't latch and didn't have a strong sucking reflex yet, so we supplemented with Hero formula... He had breast milk for the first month and then we tapered it off after switching to formula... But we've been using 2 packs of Hero for 1 month, which costs 10 euros at Kruidvat...
And the Kruidvat brand costs around 6 or 7 euros per pack, so it's cheaper than Hero...
But the question is:

Can you switch from Hero formula to Kruidvat formula? Do you need to taper it off, or is there a difference in ingredients?... Can a baby get colic from it?
I couldn't find anything online... hence this topic.

What's your experience... because I think you've probably tried this too... I also think it probably won't do any harm, but I'm asking anyway hehe.

    hey girls

i think you can switch over just fine, but you need to keep the following in mind:

    - never switch all at once, always taper off. So if you put 5 scoops in a bottle, then do 4 scoops of Hero and 1 scoop of Kruidvat for a day (or more) first. Then 3 scoops of Hero and 2 scoops of Kruidvat, etc. That way the tummies can get used to it.

    - the only side effect could be tummy cramps. You're at 9 weeks, just past the worst phase i think, but the tummies are so sensitive that switching formula can cause cramps. maybe give some Infacol along with it or something?
