name doubt

Floor
I see people asking for help with baby names on all sorts of pages.

Normally I wouldn't do that, but we just can't decide, and at 34 weeks that's making me a bit anxious.

Could you tell me which name you think is the nicest and why?

Fien: hesitating: because it's so popular
Valerie: no real hesitation, but also no clear favorite
Aimee: hesitating: do people know how to spell this?

I'm curious..

    I like Aimee the most!
Or Fiene with an e added.

    Good luck!

I think Valerie is such a beautiful name! Very sweet yet also strong. You don't hear it that much, but everyone knows how to spell it. Valerie is also on our list.
Fien is nice too, but not as much as Valerie. Compared to Valerie, I find Fien a bit ordinary. Aimee is a nice name, but how do you pronounce it: as Aimee or as Ehmee? People will probably mispronounce it at first, since some will say Aimee and others Ehmee.

I think Fien is a farmer's name. Short and plain. I don't find it beautiful.
I think Valerie is a beautiful name for a girl and for a woman.
I don't think Aimee is such a nice spelling. I'd go for Amy. I thought it was a Belgian exclamation (like Amai!) when I saw it listed...

Aimee! Beautiful! Pronouncing the French Aimée as Amy?? That's awful, seriously!

Fien! Super cute name! Fiene makes it sound a bit more complete in my opinion.

    Fiene!
    Feminine, friendly, cheerful
A bit more feminine than Fien, and well, you can just shorten it in everyday life.

Valerie is such a lovely name! And Fien too! I'd choose between those two because everyone pronounces and spells them well!

Aimée is a French name and you pronounce it as 'ee-mee'. Totally a different name than the English Amy. I like it!

Some people do indeed pronounce it as Ijmee. But that's not the official pronunciation. The official pronunciation is Ehmee (the eh like in mayonnaise). It's a French name, so I'd pronounce it in French.

Oh, so I was wrong then Sorry! I heard it pronounced like that (by people with more authority) in my circle, and even a pronunciation app (Hehe, yes, I'm guilty of that too) gave it that pronunciation.

Hmm, all those opinions about the pronunciation (see also another topic about the name Aimée) might be important for the person who started the topic?

Valerie! So cheerful, feminine, and tough.

Valerie is such a beautiful name.
If it were up to my mom, I would have been called that
    I'd definitely go with Valerie.
    Very beautiful and feminine.

Aimee, I thought the French pronunciation was already op de Frans.
I think it's beautiful too. But Valerie is more beautiful.
Fien, I also find it a bit rustic, then I also see a farmer's wife in my mind. I find it too plain, sorry.

Not a fan of Fien, would go for Féline instead.
Valerie is beautiful!! Both for a baby and an adult woman.
Aimee is also beautiful, although I always think of Amy Winehouse.
