How do you do that?

Hi everyone,
I have a question... my boyfriend wants children already, and I'm only just getting there after a few months.
Now that I've decided I want to, it can't happen fast enough. Of course, I know we need patience, and I understand that, but I'd really like to make the most of the fertile period.
Unfortunately, we both have very demanding jobs with a lot of stress. That means when I know my days are coming up, my boyfriend doesn't always feel like it, and so nothing happens.
Yesterday I had a smiley on my ovulation test. On Wednesday we still got busy, but yesterday he wasn't in the mood. Tonight it might still work out, but then it'll be quite late. Is that still in time?
How do you all handle this? I find it quite frustrating, and it feels like a lost month.
Hope you have some advice. Thanks!

    Hi KimC,

Yeah, I see it that way: if he really wants kids, he'll have to let himself off the hook sometimes And if you're using ovulation tests, it's pretty clear when you 'have to' do it. But you're just at the beginning... I'd say take it round by round. Anyway, lots of luck... hope you get pregnant soon.

Just make the most of as many days as you can.
Even when you're tired or just don't feel like it, seize your chances.
And visualize that you're already pregnant.
See your wish as reality in your thoughts already.
That might sound a bit strange, but thoughts have power.
By visualizing often, you send strength toward your wish.

Well, I don't quite agree about the chances. My husband and I took 3.5 years! We used to "follow the command" for a while... Well, after a while you get seriously fed up with the whole thing, and that puts enormous pressure on your relationship. I agree that if you're getting positive ovulation tests, you should definitely try, but if it really feels like a "must," then stop at one and not three times... But that's just my opinion, of course

When we decided to go for it, it also put pressure on our relationship. My boyfriend felt like I only wanted to have sex for that reason, so he’d lose interest or start but then not finish. Really annoying. We even had porn on and sexy outfits hahaha. After about six months, we had a big fight about it. I told him he was acting like a kid who needs to be coaxed into going to the dentist hihihi, and that we should probably just adopt a refugee baby since this wasn’t working out at all, ahh so embarrassing, in hindsight. But now I really understood how men feel when they’re “rejected” by a woman—it sounds weird, but when you dress up sexy and try to be seductive, and your man does nothing because “it’s only for that reason,” yeah, after the nth period, you get a bit irritated. And then all those lovely pregnant friends, completely unintentionally, on the 3rd or so, “you want it too much, just let it go,” yeah ehhh grrrr! In the end, after that fight, we did it twice in the next cycle, but not around ovulation—more around the period (once right before and once right after), and that month it happened....... :$

Thanks, ladies! I have something to read, which is nice. Apparently, I'm not alone in this. I can understand that it's sometimes tricky to follow instructions. Good luck to all of you! X

I'd say keep going at it.
Even though it's not always easy for your partner or husband to do it on command. But it does bring you closer to your goal.
    Getting pregnant.
Ultimately, it gets you closer to your goal.
And in practice, it often works like this:
When you do something frequently—in this case, having sex—even if you don't feel like it, you end up doing it anyway, and a sort of automatic routine kicks in.
Often with sex, you need to do it more often to start enjoying it more naturally.
Otherwise, it becomes a routine of being tired and skipping it again.
    Good luck with everything.
And hopefully, you'll get your prize soon.
