A baby and a 19-month-old

Hi!

I'm now pregnant with my second, and when this one is born, our first will be around 19 months old. Are there more people who have something like this?

How is it? Busy, of course, but otherwise?
Tips and tricks? Stroller?
Was it quickly noticeable that you were pregnant again?

I myself have 1 year and 8 months between the kids, and that already felt pretty tough, I think. Especially how everything goes so incredibly fast. You're running around everywhere, and you're really constantly busy. I thought it would be easier. Getting pregnant when the oldest is almost 1. But I underestimated it. A 1-year-old who keeps running away, chasing after them. And every morning getting up early to take care of your little one who is bursting with energy while I feel awful and nauseous—that was really disappointing and didn't turn out to be easy at all. That's how I experienced the tropes. And still do.

Haha, thanks for your honest response! The difference will probably be about the same for us too. I hope I don't get as nauseous as I did with the first one, because what you're saying, it's full of energy and I wasn't at all back then.
I hope I'll find a balance soon, although I've learned that you shouldn't look for it with a baby because then you won't find it, haha.

hey girls. I'm currently pregnant with my 2nd too and my oldest son will be over 12 months old at birth. So just not quite 13 (!). I was really dreading it at first....how tough it would get and how am I gonna manage it all? What if the baby cries/is hungry and my other (actually still a baby) kid also wants attention or a bottle. Or wants to walk, which he can't do independently yet....or waking up one after the other at night...in short, lots of bears in the way

currently I've heard lots of good stories from women who also have kids close together I'm looking at it much more positively now. Maybe I just needed to process the shock myself.

    Regarding your questions:
    - we bought a double buggy from phil and teds (via marktplaats). Right now our little boy is still in a regular pram, but we also have a stroller since this week. We're going to sell the regular pram. I also have a 4-in-1 tricycle with a push handle which he absolutely loves! but walking with 2 kids at once later on? then I'll really need a double buggy. You could maybe get the oldest a balance bike or one of those seats that attach to the back of the pram?

    - Was it quickly visible that you were pregnant again? uh...yes...right away my body still knew exactly how it all worked. I couldn't hide it..although a lot of people thought I just couldn't lose the pregnancy weight haha. Fortunately it's stabilized now. I'm 22 weeks pregnant now

Rose, yes, I want to be honest about it
But now they're preschoolers and it's fun again.
That they can really share things,
    things they experience together.
    Being mischievous together again.
Both being difficult at bedtime at the same time is sometimes tough.
And when you finally get one child to listen, you're still dealing with number two.
Who is still in their mood pfff
But yeah, that comes with the territory when they don't care too much about each other.
What helped us was that when our second daughter was born, my husband took care of the first one and I focused mainly on the baby.
We did this to try to prevent our oldest from having to share all the attention right away and so she wouldn't have to grow up too fast.
Because she was still small herself, of course.
You always have to keep that in mind.
So she still got one-on-one attention from my husband
And it was easier because I was breastfeeding, for example.
It's really a matter of accepting
That things will get busy and maybe also heavy at first.
I went into it too casually.
Didn't realize beforehand how heavy it would get.
Just accept it and keep in mind
That it will all get busy for a while.
But the older they get, the easier it becomes.
Now with a girl of almost 3 months added,
I can enjoy it more consciously now
    And it's much more relaxed.
I'm glad I didn't have a third one right after.
I wish you a very nice pregnancy, Rose
