jealous of my pregnant friend

Hi everyone!

I just need to vent...
A friend of mine is pregnant.
I'm so jealous that I can't even be happy for her.
We've had a strong desire for kids ourselves, so I stopped taking the pill in August 2015.
I find it hard to talk about it with anyone because I feel so selfish about it.
But I can't help being so jealous of her. I should be happy for her, but I'm so sad that I'm still not pregnant.

Have you ever felt like this too?

Love, Sunny x

Yes, I totally get it. With every pregnancy around me, I struggle too, but you have to try to move past it and let it go, otherwise you'll just get depressed and hopeless. I speak from experience...
    Lots of courage!

    Hey Sunny!
That sucks for you I can totally understand how you're feeling..
I'm jealous too.. Although I'm in a slightly different situation, I still want to share it. My sister-in-law (girlfriend of my boyfriend's brother) is just pregnant and I can't really be happy for her. She's only been with him for a year and a half and I've been with my boyfriend for 5.5 years.
My boyfriend and I really want a baby and are going to start trying next year. I'm still studying right now (which is quite in the way) so I have to wait a bit longer. But now they're suddenly pregnant and I find it really such a shame that they're first. My in-laws think it's amazing but I would have preferred if we were expecting a baby first, especially since we've been together longer.
It's a different situation of course because we haven't started trying yet, but even I feel jealous so I can totally imagine how much worse it must feel for you. I really hope you'll be successful soon. Rooting for you and wishing you lots of luck!

So relatable! When my sister-in-law told me she got pregnant on the first try, I burst into tears—it feels so unfair! It's starting to get a little easier (I'm on round 13 now), but I still find it hard to see or hear that everyone seems to be pregnant "all of a sudden."

But I always remind myself that there are also people who are jealous of us. There are people who are very ill, or have chronic pain, or people who don't have a loving partner and just get through life! It remains difficult, but I try not to have self-pity. Who knows, our time will come!

Ooh, so nice to hear that it’s relatable! On the other hand, it’s not great either, because I naturally don’t like it for you.. But you’re absolutely right, there are also people who have it much worse, and honestly, I have nothing to complain about. Good that you can see that for yourself, well done!! I also hope that our time will come!
By the way, I was just getting used to the idea that she’s pregnant. I was very emotional at first (not in her presence, but when I got home). They told us very early on, but now that she’s a bit further along, they’re making it known to everyone, and I notice that it still hurts a little.. But well, as you said, maybe our time will come!
