boy or girl?

Hi ladies! I had a gender ultrasound done at 15 weeks and 3 days. The result was written on a little note, and we drove to the bakery to hand over the envelope. The party was the next day. It turned out to be a boy!
But I wasn’t convinced. Everyone thought I didn’t like it, but it was more about the feeling I had—and still have—that it’s actually a girl.
When you look at the photo, you see what looks like a bump and immediately think boy. But my gut feeling won’t go away. I haven’t started looking into boy names or blue clothes because I think I’ll find out next week (at the 20-week scan) that it’s a girl.
Am I hoping too much? Am I going nuts? The feeling just won’t go away! Help!

I really think it's a boy. With my daughter, there was a clear white stripe, you know. Don't you get another ultrasound at 20 weeks? Then you can ask again.

Yeah, here the preference was for a girl among me and my big sister, and even dad was hoping for a girl. And my gut feeling was with that too. At 15 weeks, the gyn said it was a boy, and we were actually pretty disappointed. I think the hormones amplified that feeling, and I also felt very guilty. At 20 weeks, there was a clearer little penis... I guess my gut feeling sometimes gets mixed up with the hormones, I think.

I already have a daughter and the second one is on the way, but from your ultrasounds, it's clearly a boy.

With a girl, you'd see white stripes, and here you can clearly see a little penis.

Maybe you just need to get used to the idea. I didn't dare believe it either until it was confirmed again. Meanwhile, it's been confirmed 6 times by different OB-GYNs/midwives, so now I believe it

The weird thing is that it's pretty much clear from the picture that it's a boy.
But maybe I wanted a girl so badly that I don't want to believe it.
I'd like another confirmation (next week's 20-week ultrasound), then it'll probably sink in, I think.

If they're really unsure when doing the ultrasound, they don't write it on a little piece of paper for a party...

Are you reading up on boys?
I have two brothers and two stepsons. I'm crazy about boys.

I used to always want a daughter because I thought I could relate to her. But you can also relate to boys. Boys are real mama's boys. Boys are a bit tougher, but also easier when it comes to arguments. No stirring up trouble in the group, but just saying what's on your mind and playing together again ten minutes later.

Read up on boys vs girls and then on the positive aspects of boys.

    Seriously. Boys are really fun.
I'd like to have a boy. That seems personally much easier, and therefore more fun.

Ultimately, you'll choose a baby, of course. That means a boy or a girl. Just think that health is the most important thing.

It's quite clear on your ultrasound, so try to get used to it, maybe look at some cute boys' clothes, for example.

Of course, health is the most important thing.
But being disappointed or having a preference isn't something you have to carry alone. There shouldn't be any taboo around that. There are so many people with a preference.

If I turn out to be pregnant with a girl, I'll also have to get used to the idea in a big way.

    It'll be fine, I'm sure
Once you hold him in your arms, the hormones will kick in anyway, hihi
Good luck getting used to it... Luckily you still have a little time

Hmm, looking at the ultrasound, I'm guessing a boy.
    Is this your first baby?
My partner and I had the NUB scan done last week (see profile pic). What do you all think? A boy or a girl?

No, this is my second child. I compared the photo with my son's, and with him you could clearly see a penis and a sac underneath. But with this one, I'm really doubting because that little protrusion looks quite round and not really penis-like.
And of course, my baby's health is the most important thing, but I'm still really unsure about the gender despite the fact that something is sticking out.

Yes, indeed, it's a boy Isn't that nice? I'm having a girl, but I know how you feel. This will be my third child. I already have a girl and a boy, and now another girl, so I'm pretty lucky. But it doesn't matter what gender it is, right? As long as the baby is healthy, that's what matters, right?
