Unisex name or not

Hi,

I'm going to risk a forum question now, since we're still a little unsure.

My husband and I are expecting a girl. Super happy and we've basically decided on her name. But the name, although rarely used, is more described as a boy's name.

So my question: what do you think of the name Savi for a girl??

    Absolutely not fun.

    Savi/Saffi means "stop" in Arabic.
You often say it to kids when they don't want to stop doing something. Like in Dutch: "enough!"

I think people get used to Savi being a girl pretty quickly. Though she'll probably cause a bit of confusion later on But hey, if you don't mind...
I do think it's a boy's name, but that might be because I know a boy named Xavi.

I was thinking of a girl, actually.
Because a sister of mine is named Savi, which comes from Savia, also a girl's name.
So for me, it's definitely a girl's name.
    Nice and original.

    Thanks for your opinions!!

It's of course also just what we want ourselves.
With our first, we also had doubts, but then about the pronunciation.
It will always be something. You give the name for life after all. So an important decision to make

How funny @Madelene that you call your sister-in-law Savi. There are few girls who are called that. Also quite unique then
