Can you use tampons during the postpartum period? Of course not right away, but when you're not bleeding as much anymore?

    Don't know... but doesn't sound nice! You're not healed at all inside yet! I'm normally all for tampons, but during the postpartum period I'd just use pads!!

    You're not allowed to use tampons during postpartum bleeding because it increases the risk of infection (that's why you also shouldn't take a bath while you're still bleeding and have a wound in your uterus). Only use maternity pads without a plastic backing!
