Hi hi. My partner doesn't want a second child. I do. How can we best approach this? Any tips?

    Hi Sonja,

That’s tricky.. Maybe you should give him some time to get used to the idea of having a second child? Have you already asked why he doesn’t want a second child?

Yes, he says 1 the is enough and now we can give our child everything maybe not anymore later

Hmm, tricky.. Have you talked to him much about having a second child? Does he maybe have a friend with two kids? Otherwise, he could ask that friend how they experienced it.

Yeah, he's stressed and mainly worried that he won't be able to give our second child everything we've given the first. I get that, it's responsible. And my partner doesn't always adapt easily to new situations. He really has had an addiction in the past—no excuse, but something I'm taking into account. But it just keeps holding me back. I want to, but it's holding everything back.

Oh, tough situation, girl.. Maybe you can talk to him about having a second child in the future. Does he see himself doing that? When the finances are back in order and your life settles into calmer waters? Maybe he just thinks it's too soon right now and wants to in the future! Then just give him some time and if he says: yes in the future. Then you can prepare yourself for that and live towards that goal!
