Dog name

Okay, a weird story, but here's the deal: about 3 years ago we got a dog. We already had 1 dog and no kids yet, and back then our dogs were basically our "first kids," so to speak. We also gave our second dog a name that we both really love. It's not a dog name, it's really just a girl's name. Now we're getting our 2nd daughter soon, and we can't agree on a name; the only name we'd both give our daughter is, yes, the name we already gave our dog... Now our dog has quite a few nicknames and we actually always call her by one of her nicknames, and even our family does. But still, everyone knows what our dog's real name is. If we were to only call our dog by her nicknames from now on, not her real name anymore, would you dare to give your daughter that name? It'll be weird at first when people see the birth announcement, but then we'll just explain it. What do you think?

If it's your name, just go for it!

As long as it's a human name and you're not going to call your kid Fikkie, I'd just go for it

Haha, yes, it's really a human name!

    Hmm, tricky one.
I think our dog's name is cool too, but naming my own child after it...
A friend of ours has a dog with a name I'd actually like to give our son. But I wouldn't do it because a lot of people would still associate it with the dog.
So personally, I wouldn't choose that name.

But who am I to say! If it's THE name, then you just go for it.

I'd just go ahead and do it, especially if it's really a name you both love so much. Otherwise, you might regret it later...

If that's the name, definitely do it!
