Second round

Are there any other people who are starting their second round now? I don't want to step on the toes of others who have been trying to get pregnant for months (or even years) while I've just started and am still super enthusiastic about it. So, I thought it would be nice to connect with people who have also just decided to go for a baby. ????

Hi Robin, I totally get you!

I stopped the pill in January and my cycle hasn't been regular yet. I had a positive ovulation test on April 7th and still haven't gotten my period. I expect it around April 21st.

Hey Kim!! So nice to connect with people who are in the same boat! It's quite different from talking to your boyfriend who goes along with it but never really understands how a woman's body works haha!

A colleague of mine hadn't had her period yet either and ended up getting pregnant, so it's totally possible!
It's super exciting though, do you not feel like taking a test? (I definitely would) They say that if you're pregnant, your ovulation test can also turn positive....

By the way, it also took me 53 days before I got my period again, and afterwards you think, I should have stopped much earlier! But well, hindsight is 20/20 hihi ????

By the way, I stopped the pill in October and got my first period in December... Since then, my cycle has been between 29 and 34 days... We're only just starting our second round officially; before that, we just used condoms, and I thought, "my body can get used to coming off the pill," but now we've finally told each other that we really want to go for it????

You're right, Robin. It's always nice to talk to someone who's going through the same thing.
I can talk to my boyfriend about it, but it's still different; they don't understand it as well and they're less enthusiastic.

I don't feel like testing because I have expensive Clear Blue tests lying around, and I only want to use them if my period doesn't come; otherwise, I feel it's a waste.
My ovulation tests are also used up, so I can't do anything!

I do have my period, though. I normally have a 28-day cycle, and I'm already on day 36 this time, so it's taking a long time, but I'm waiting calmly!

It's really exciting, isn't it, when you decide together? I'm 21, and my parents and their parents don't know, so it's quite nerve-wracking.
How old are you, if I may ask?

Oh sorry, I must have misread that..
That's true! My boyfriend also thinks it's all nice and can talk about it with him, but after 10 mins he thinks it's been enough while you actually feel like your head is filled with nothing else. I also think men can't get "infected" by it as much as women... Maybe they just miss those hormones that are needed for it haha.

But basically you'd be overdue after Friday then? At least they say the phase after ovulation is 14 days?

When do you want to test? I'll cheer for you!!!!
My period is only on May 15th again (according to the app) I'll start using ovulation sticks again because unfortunately it's still irregular here.

    I'm 27 and my boyfriend is 26
My parents don't know anything about it normally I talk to my mom about everything but I really want to keep this as a surprise! Only my best friend knows we're trying, for the rest I won't tell anyone either. You?

Doesn't matter, I put it up a bit unclearly too haha!
It's the same here, my boyfriend thinks it's nice but they don't experience it like we do, of course.
We're the ones who are pregnant after all, and they just have to go along with it haha!
For them, it only really starts when the baby is here, I think!
If I do a pregnancy test and it's faintly positive, he says no, for him it's only positive if there are clearly two lines.
And through here I can share those feelings.

Yeah, that's right, in principle, but I don't really feel like I'm pregnant, nor do I feel like I'm about to get my period.
    We're crossing our fingers, indeed!
I only want to test after the weekend or during the weekend.

For you, it's still a while away, but I'm rooting for you, and indeed, with ovulation tests, you get quite far.
And just enjoy the process every other day!

No, we also want to keep it a surprise and not have them know beforehand.
    My boyfriend is 24.

How's your Kim doing? Exciting, huh, since there was such a faint line visible! Hopefully, it'll become clearer in a few days!!

Have you thought about how you're going to tell your parents and friends? Really, I'm already so excited for the scan but haven't really come across anything yet that made me think "that's it!" Have you?

That could definitely be the case, but so far the tests have been negative!
I had terrible stomach pain this morning and really thought, "shit, here it comes," but nothing so far!
I am feeling very nauseous and tired though!
    So fingers crossed!

It's definitely fun. We don't just give anything out either, but when we go out to eat, I'll leave it in the car first. I think I'll grab it later, maybe with dessert or something!
    Exciting, right!
