Almost found out if we're having a boy or a girl

Hi hi,

Last Monday I went for a check-up at the OB-GYN. She asked if we wanted to know whether we’re having a boy or a girl (yes, of course!) and said she’d try to take a look during the ultrasound.

So, excited! In two weeks we’ll have the 20-week scan, and they’ll probably tell us then anyway, but finding out now would be really nice too. All the shops are having sales right now, so there’s still plenty of choice and we could start “stocking up” early. In two weeks, the selection might already be much smaller.

Anyway, she took a look…… we held our little one’s feet up for her, and he/she was lying low, so the OB-GYN couldn’t see very well.
Her first impression was a girl, but from a slightly different angle it looked like there was “something” there, but it could also have been the shadow of the umbilical cord……

So disappointing! But in two weeks we’ll have another chance, and hopefully our little one will cooperate a bit more then :-).

I hope your little one reveals their gender within the next two weeks!

Ours kept it hidden until my 24 weeks, you rascal!
It's nice to know whether you're having a boy or a girl. You can choose more specifically for clothes, names, birth announcements, and favors, etc.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Well, that's also the reason we'd really like to know... The choice of neutral clothes is so limited these days, and indeed, you can also choose a name very deliberately.
When I was pregnant with our son, we also told our daughter that she would get a little brother and that his name would be Julian. Ideal! We always talked about Julian from then on instead of "the baby," and when he was born, we told our daughter, "This is Julian now."
Some people thought that was nothing, that we had already announced his name, but we thought it was ideal. So we're going to do that again now.
