Hi ladies,

I was wondering if any of you here have experience with getting pregnant while overweight?
Looking forward to your replies..

    Hey,
I'm also trying to get pregnant and I'm overweight too. Currently only on round 2 and it's my first baby, so not much info but I'm in the same boat
    Greetings

    Tessa,

we'll keep each other posted on this, sounds nice
If you look it up, you get so many different responses, that's why I wanted to throw this question out to the group for a bit.

I did look it up and found that you have less chance.. I hope both of you get pregnant soon! We'll keep in touch!
How old are you? Been trying for a long time?
    Greetings

Tessa, I'm 25 and we've been trying for about 8 months. And you, how old are you?

I had also been quite into sports and eating healthier, unfortunately 3 times went wrong but the 4th one stuck.
    Good luck.

I'm 21 years old, we're just getting started so I can't really complain.
Big congratulations on your pregnancy, anonymous

Here I am now 30 weeks pregnant with baby two. This time I got pregnant after four months and there were no breaks in between. So lucky. My weight is on the high side and my BMI too since I'm just broad in width ;-). I also got a lot of warnings that I might not be able to get pregnant etc. But it wasn't a problem for me. I must say that my weight is extremely stable. Even now at seven months pregnant only 2.5kg more. My health is (for now) also very good: Excellent blood pressure, not too much cholesterol, everything works well... So that's all been in my favor. But being overweight is definitely a factor for fertility and also for complications during pregnancy and childbirth. You just shouldn't obsess over it because psychologically you can also work against yourself. There are many stories of women who got pregnant only when they stopped trying. It's hard but even with being overweight I think you really have to let go a bit. Try

    Ladies,
thanks for the replies and the experiences you're sharing with us :-)
This way we can also get a pretty good idea of what it's like when someone who has firsthand experience shares their story. And indeed, I realize that being overweight can be a stumbling block, but I think it really depends on the person.

Getting pregnant with being overweight doesn't have to be a problem. I myself also have overweight and am now pregnant for the 2nd time. The first one in the first month and now in the third month (of which one was completely skipped and without actively trying)
So it really depends on more factors than just your weight.
Just make sure you eat and live healthily. Don't start dieting, as that is bad for your fertility.
Depending on your weight, it's also sometimes better to gain as little weight as possible during your pregnancy. The chance of gestational diabetes is also somewhat higher, and you'll have to do a sugar test anyway.

Hi everyone, I also have excess weight and I'm now 6.5 weeks pregnant.
We took 3 years to get here...

I don't know if it's because of being overweight; my husband is also less fertile.

So there are also many differences like that. It's common among many. So it doesn't have to take long, but it can.

With my first pregnancy, I was round in round 2! Pregnant with twins!
Then I also had excess weight, so it doesn't mean anything..

Hi! I'm currently pregnant with our 2nd, but this is my 3rd pregnancy and I'm also overweight.
All 3 pregnancies were immediately successful. I'd just go for it and focus on eating and drinking healthily and staying active.
If it doesn't work out after a while, you can always consider losing weight later.
If you don't have any cycle issues right now, that's already a positive sign, although it doesn't guarantee everything...
    Good luck!!!
