Is an ovulation test possible already?

Hi everyone,

My partner and I have recently decided to try for our first baby, since we're both so excited I stopped taking the pill even though my pack wasn't finished yet. As usual, I got my period 3 days later. I just went to the store to buy an ovulation test from Clearblue, and now I'm wondering if I should count from my previous period (which was caused by the pill) and test already? Or should I wait until I get my next period? What do you think?

I’d wait for your next period. It could take a while before it shows up. Then you keep testing, and that can only make you more unsure... You’ve just started, so I’d just enjoy the moment now and not stress too much about ovulation tests and all that.

Yeah, I think this is the best option, but since we’ve decided to go for it, you naturally hope it happens as soon as possible. I hope I get my period soon because I’ve read that it can sometimes take a while for your cycle to return to normal. Anyway, thanks!

Haha yes, when we ladies have it in our heads that we want a baby, we want it right now! Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that. Good luck, and I hope you'll be pregnant soon!

You can always join in on one of the NOD topics. There are women there who want the same thing as you, and you can freely share your feelings. I've found it really helpful!

I’d also wait until your next period.
And sometimes you really need to keep testing with ovulation tests, so I’d go for the Action ones. They’re really good and much cheaper. If they’re positive, you can always confirm with a Clearblue test.

Thank you both! Yes, I really can't wait for the moment I hold a positive pregnancy test in my hands. In my head, I'm already thinking about names—is that weird haha ? I took the Deso 20 pill, which isn't a very heavy pill. Could that maybe have an influence on how quickly I can get pregnant? I read that somewhere...

Nothing is as weird as a woman's body. Can't predict it!!
Hope it works out quickly for you.
But don't think too much about it, I know that's hard, but it only makes things worse.

Yeah, I'll do my best not to stress too much about it, but yeah, I think that once you decide to try for a little one and stop the pill, you automatically start thinking about it anyway... I'm just gonna keep enjoying my little guy and hopefully it'll happen soon!
